Murad Skin Care

I'm not sure if i got my aunts luck and not get acne but i'm 13 and i had eczema so i take pretty good care of skin and thats why i have had acene yet and my brother just went through it and still have a WHOLE bunch of products left that my mom keeps buying for me but does Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Lotion can be used if you don't have zits? i do get them just 3 or 2 zits per month when i get my period. so can you….. it got realyl good reviews.
i also have sensitive skin and planing to use Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser

If you have clear skin and cleansing your face is working for you I would stick with it. I wouldn't mess with a good thing or use anything more than necessary for clear, healthy skin. Using an acne product when you don't need it could dry out your skin and cause other skin problems. For the occasional 2-3 zits you do get, a spot treatment would work.

I have been having an allergic reaction off and on for about a month. I had started then stopped these products when I learned it could cause allergies eating egg beaters, using salicylic acid on skin, eating fresh fruit, etc. We do have mold in our home, now I wonder about this being an irritant. Initially stopping these things helped but now its back again. I thought taking bactrim had started the reaction about two weeks ago, I stopped taking it, and these symptoms went away for days, about 4 days later it came back so I wonder was I allergic? I will stop eating or using a medicine and things seem to get better, then around 2 days later this itch and lump in throat will come back even though I no longer use what I thought might have caused the problem. I went to the doctor, he thinks possibly it’s something I’m eating or using, such as shampoo, skin care, etc. as I changed my diet drastically and used some new products in last 30 days. I reviewed medicines I take with him that I’ve taken for years, he said anything was possible but doesn’t think it’s the meds. The itch was only on my arms, belly, back and hands, occasionally a small part of my lip would swell, this itch (huge spots) was never below my waist. I change to dye/perfume free laundry detergent, this helps it seems, but now makes no difference. The last 3 days I have been eating what I normally have and things are better, but this is how this reaction has been going for quite some time, it happens badly at night (sometimes morning) and about every 2-3 days. I no longer itch but have a lump in my throat. I have taken benadryl every night recently thinking to avoid the symptoms of itching. He gave me hydroxyzine which I’m afraid to take after reading how it affects you and I wonder if I’m being silly. I guess I am curious to whether anyone else has had this problem. I have some allergies, latex, penicllin, aspartame, benzol peroxide. Some of the things I’ve thought like egg beaters was responsible, however I have always eaten regular eggs with no problems and occasionally used salicylic acid. Has anyone ever developed a reaction to medicine they have taken for 10 years or longer? Most my meds I have taken this long, some longer. The doctor said anything was possible to investigate it on my own. Thanks ahead of time for any answers or suggestions.

Hi I thought I was the only person in the world who is experiencing this. I don’t have the lump in my throat, but if I am not getting an injection once a month or taking a predisone regimen 2 times a month, my upper body especially my face and neck , starts off as hives, and then turns into these red flat patchy spots. I’ve changed my personals, medicine, foods, and even stop smoking……No your not being silly, because some things that I have developed allergies to, I am always cautious of what I consume, and everything else. I am about to go to an Allergen Dr. and change my Dermatologist.

I have heard so many brilliant reviews about this brand and I wanted to know what you thought. I am trying to put as less chemicals on my face as possible and want a healthy skin care routine. What's Clinique like for this? Which product is best for generally cleansing the whole face altogether? Thanks in advance.
P.S If it helps, I am 16 so I have young skin but I know we have to look after it. Any advice would be great. Thank you :)
Clinique is really good
I am allergic to most make-ups
The only brand I can wear is either No.7 or Clinique
Clinique stuff always lasts ages and you should reallly try the perfume "Happy"- By Clinique…Its gorgeous…
Ckinique can be expensive but its worth the money and they are always doing good deals where if you spend a certain amount you will get something for free!

I was going to buy Serious Skin Care's liquid lasor hair removal product (just for my arms) but it's expensive, and after looking at the reviews on it, I'd rather use something cheaper…and that I could get in person. Someone mentioned using Nair instead (but I assume they were talking about for their legs) but that made me think…what about for arms? Would that work?

I just wondered if it'd grow back any differently…if it'd be safe, and if anyone thinks it's a bad idea. If I shouldn't use it on my arms, is there anything you recommend?

I plan on eventually getting lasor hair removal…but want something to use on my arms for the time being.

Thanks.

Yes

I have oily skin, but i'm a teen so that's typical. I can never seem to get my foundation to stay on my face for more than 5 hours. Even when i have a primer and apply loose powder, it never stays. the reviews make the product sound so perfect, then i go out and buy it, and it doesn't work for me. I go to school. I don't have time to worry or keep applying makeup, and i definately don't have the money to keep buying new products. can someone please tell me a skin care or foundation that truly worked for your oily skin.

i'm currently using:
Mac primer
revlon colorstay foundation
cornsilk loose powder

i've used
bare minerals
physicians formula
mary kay
clinique
neutrogena
dream mousse matte

OK i can see you've been using high quality products!
I'm a teenager and at the moment I've gone obsessed with benefit cosmetics. I have very large pores which equals very oily skin so foundation tends to come of quicker but then i found this product!

she laq by benefit cosmetics

Tips and tricks: Allow to dry completely for about 1-2 minutes before touching it. Wash brushes after each use and store in pouch. Works great over show-offs!, brow zings, and babe cakes

She laq maybe a litte pricey however it's lasted me age and a little goes a long way!

Try using tinted moisturisers instead of foundation!

Invest in your skin you will be thanking me when your in your 50's!

P.S Please stay away from brands like
Covergirl
L'Oreal
Maxfactor

I've heard Jesica Simpson never used Proactive. She was secretly using a product called Probiotic Skin Care for her acne. Can any one please review the site and give me your feed back regarding the product.

if she did or not, it doesn't matter. what works for her may not work for you.

check around and see if any of your friends or family have used it. see if they have enough left over for you to try it for yourself.

Quite a few of you have written asking about the rather prominent
ads for the product TNS Recovery Complex ($139 for 0.6 oz). Increasing number
of topical products hitting the market claiming they can diminish or reduce wrinkles without "painful injections," I certainly understand the
curiosity.

I wrote about TNS Recovery Complex (SkinMedica) in a previous newsletter, when a reader asked about its ability to diminish the visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin texture. SkinMedica claims that NouriCel is derived from Advanced Tissue Sciences' patented process for growing bioengineered human tissue for treating serious burns and wounds, and help diminish wrinkles. That was SkinMedica’s
original marketing claim to fame, though the fame was all self-promoted,
as there is not a single independent, peer-reviewed study to prove that
TNS Recovery Complex is an effective option for repairing and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. The studies that do exist about TNS products with (Nouricel) for treatment and diminishing wrinkles were paid for by SkinMedica, the company that distributes TNS products.

According to the company's latest ads, they were surprised to find that
not only was TNS Recovery Complex healing wounds and burns, but
also that somehow their facial lines and wrinkles were going away, too. For that
reason, we now have the astounding "anti-wrinkle breakthrough of the
decade." Regrettably, no supportive research needs to be available to sell
this kind of hyperbole. All it takes is to promise women that a product
will get rid of their wrinkles and they will buy it in droves, no
matter how many other product lines, infomercials, advertisements, or
cosmetics salespeople pledge the exact same thing.

SkinMedica’s ad continues with " rebel, rebuild, and reborn” via The active formula Nouricel. Nouricel recently been shown in clinical trials to significantly reduce fine lines and facial wrinkles without irritation, painful injections, or surgery." One more flourish is the statement that "in fact, [TNS Recovery Complex and TNS Family Products] are the only topical formulation clinically proven to effectively confront every aspect of wrinkle reduction." It is easy to debunk all of this overblown nonsense by pointing out the product's lack of sunscreen; perhaps SkinMedica overlooked the research about sun exposure's deleterious, wrinkling, and
discoloring effects on skin.

SkinMedica has parlayed these claims into what appears to be little
more than an effort to spin off the popularity of wrinkle reduction skin care, wrinkle reduction concerns as well as recent use of Botox to its own
benefit. "The compounds in NouriCel-MD have been shown to aid in the healing of burns and wounds, so it's no surprise that they rejuvenate aging and sun-damaged skin," said Richard Fitzpatrick, MD, founder and chairman of SkinMedica. "The addition of TNS Recovery Complex with NouriCel-MD to our product line will enable us to satisfy growing patient demand for a natural, non-invasive and proven anti-aging product." It is funny how the founder of SkinMedica can claim this and yet there is no other physician or scientist to claim this via actual research. TNS Recovery Complex is supposedly preferred because its long-term results
versus the short-term results (and repeated treatments) of Botox. Apparently, SkinMedica has conducted a research with over 200 people and the results were due in late 2002. For some reason, they do not have the result of the study yet. I wonder why?

Please note that in order for a growth factor or any hormone therapy, special ingredients like Nouricel-MD to work, it needs to reach the cellular level. There's absolutely no scientific evidence that collagen, elastin, or hyaluronic acid - the three main components of your dermis - can penetrate the epidermis (top layer of the skin which is dead skin). Even "nanotechnology" has not been proven to be able to get these substances into the skin.
The molecules are simply too large. (Quick science lesson: The epidermis is your topmost layer of skin. The dermis, the next layer of skin, is where wrinkle-causing changes take place.) Be wary of creams and lotions that claim to topically replace, repair or produce collagen, elastin, or hyaluronic acid.
Growth factors applied to the epidermis (top layer of the skin which is dead tissue) will not rejuvenate, replenish or produce more cells. SkinMedica Claims that “NouriCel-MD contains multiple human growth factors including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEG-F) and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta), as well as natural antioxidants, soluble collagens and matrix proteins. Together, these compounds have demonstrated the ability to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while also helping to increase skin elasticity and texture in as little as 45 days”.

If you were to ask how would any of the growth factors mentioned above penetrate the epidermis to actually stimulate collagen formation for wrinkle prevention and reduction, not one scientist will back SkinMedica in this theory. Not one ingredient mentioned above would even penetrate the skin to stimulate a cell for production of collagen.

So is TNS Recovery Complex better than any other over the counter skin care prodcut? The short answer is no–and that
means no way, and nohow. It isn't even better than the daily use of an
effective sunscreen! TNS Recovery Complex is merely a moisturizer. Botox prevents the use of facial muscles, and that instantaneously smoothes out the skin.
TNS Recovery Complex won't alter the wrinkling on any part of your face, not in
the long term, and not in the short term.

There is no published research substantiating the results, and SkinMedica declined to send us any documentation at this time.

This is the longest question…not really a question, but…that I've seen on yahoo answers. The answer is….no

Hello everyone. My name is Iris and I am 23 and unfortunately I was a smoker for quite some time fact which really damaged my skin. My skin type was dry but because I have tried numerous brands of lotions and moisturizers I kind of…confused my skin. Now it`s dry but in the same time a bit oilywith open pores..and sometimes it`s itchy and red. I have been doing some research on the internet, after spending tons of cash on cosmetics and now I am even more confused. I cant find anywhere a review or an advice which doesn't look like an advert. Even the chemists I asked weren`t too helpful. I decided to stick with two brands: Vichy and Clinique. But which is best? Please help!!! Thank you.
Thank you all for your answers, you have been very helpful. I`ll stay open for new suggestions. Have a great weekend!
I looked on the arbonne site and as far as I saw they dont do shippings in the UK. :(
Am I wrong and if not, how am I supposed to get their products?

Hi Iris,
I would not recommend either. You are paying more for the name. The best product that I have used and I have used them all has been BeautiControl. Their products are made to compete with dermatologist not cosmetic companies. They are very affordable. I started using 5 years ago. Within a week I could tell a difference in my skin. It was so dramatic that my husband noticed. If you would like more info on where to get these products and what to get contact me. mcarterspas@yahoo.com, I would be happy to help!

I am 30 year old with medium color sensitive/acne prone skin. Couldn't use sunscreen or moisturizer or any makeup on face till now, always gets pimple with them. But now i see signs of aging like enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, few bleakheads, clogged pores, oily T-zone but dry elsewhere, under eye circle etc. Want to use some products those can help with mature skin issues without giving me pimples. I read as many reviews as i can for Bliss, Serious Skin care, Continuously Clear, Clinique, Wei East, Italian Bath & Body Skin Care (hsn) ….but can't decide. Also need help in choosing makeup (may be mineral but which one?). I would prefer less products as i have sensitive skin that can easily break out.
Is there anyone who has same skin like me and can suggest some good products? or anyone who has knowledge plz help.
thanks

I think that you should exfoliate your skin. Exfoliators are grainy and sandy, but they're hard to find in the store but you could easily find them on the internet. You just rub the solution on your face in a gentle, circular motion. This helps to clear your skin, taking bad stuff out and unclogging pores. It also helps to soften skin and make it glow. I think you should try it for your acne.
For the sunscreen and moisturizer, try the Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. It's a good moisturizer and sunscreen in one and it evens the skin. All natural, too. (don't wear foundation and/or cover-up when you don't have to)
I'm not exactly sure about what you should use for your acne, but for makeup, keep it simple with neutral colours, light eye shadow and some mascara, eyeliner maybe. Look for products in the store that are natural and not animal tested. :)
Hope I helped somehow!

If you found a store that offered well-known brands of cosmetics, skin care, etc, in exchange for a review of the product, would you be willing to go inside?

You would have your choice of 3 different size bags, the smallest bag having the smallest price tag, probably no more than $5 and the biggest bag around $20. Once you get your bag you have free reign over the entire store, taking whatever you want. Whatever fits in the bag is yours to keep.

When you're ready to leave you're handed a survey that you must complete, based on what products you have selected. You have ample time to complete the survey and mail it back. If you choose not to complete the survey, you will be charged an additional fee, but the products are still yours.

Does this sound like a store you girls would want to go to? Think of it like your favorite makeup counter that offers samples (if you have the courage to ask), but for less than a high end brand mascara you get an entire bag full of goodies.
You girls have brought up some great points that I hadn't thought of yet. The store isn't here just yet, but its something I'm thinking about doing.

Theres a store in Japan that works this way. They offer more stuff though, like food samples and whatnot, but I wanted to focus more on cosmetics. I was amazed to find out that companies will often pay to have their newest products featured in an environment like this; its like a huge focus group. You get awesome stuff, they get the research and opinions they need from their loyal customers. Thats why the survey is so important, but, understandably, so annoying at the same time.

I haven't thought of how the additional fee would be enforced, but its something that definitely needs to be worked out. I hate surveys myself, so I need to figure out some way of making the companies that fund my project happy, but also keep customers coming back.

I want one of those!! it sounds totally awesome!! are there any in MA!!
